Ethiopian Intellectual Property Office announced online facility that is developed in cooperation with World Intellectual Property Organization to allow online trademark applications.
The Office held half day introductory session on 20th of December 2018 to introduce its new online trademark application system presented for trademark agents. It has been told by Director General of the IP Office that the online application would enable trademark agents to file trademarks from their own office and he further noted that the system, among others, will help much to improve data quality of each trademark application.
Each trademark agent will have a user account and a password to upload applications and interact with the IP Office on the digital platform.
Following the introductory session, the Office also held a launching ceremony on 21st of December 2018 with the involvement of higher government officials.
